Sallie Margaret Nance

Sallie Margaret Curtis Nance, age 93, died on November 25, 2015, at The Lantern of Morning Pointe in Frankfort, Kentucky. She had been a resident there for over two years. Sallie was the widow of Garnet Nance. Her deceased parents were Leon and Ada Curtis of Cumberland County. Surviving Sallie are son Roy Curtis (Karen) Nance of Frankfort, Linda Lou Cook of Glasgow, and Martha Ann (George) Streckfus of Floyd Knobs, Indiana. Grandchildren include: Amy Nance, Adam (Cheryl) Nance, both of Frankfort; Miranda Cook (Audrey Connor), Tucson, Arizona; and Nancy Streckfus, Clarksville, Indiana. Great grandchildren include: Lucas Nance, Chloe Nance, Jackson Nance, and Aaliyah Simpson. Additionally there are several nieces, nephews, and cousins who survive.
Born in Cumberland County, Sallie graduated from the Bryant and Stratton Business School in Louisville. She was employed at Curtis and McComas in Burkesville; the Cumberland County Extension Office; F. P.Williams Furniture, Glasgow; and she retired from South Central Rural Telephone Co-op in Glasgow.
Sallie was a life-long member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was a deacon and held numerous offices in the church, the Golden Rule Sunday School class, and Callie Beals Circle.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who tremendously enjoyed the activities of her family. Being a wonderful cook and homemaker, friends enjoyed her hospitality. Sallie also loved to travel throughout the United States and abroad.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 12:00-2:00 (CST), at the First Christian Church in Glasgow. The service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00. Participants include: Reverend Jeff Bruce, Reverend Ann Bruce, pianist Beth Faught, Frankfort Brass Ensemble, and soloist Keith Dean. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. The family invites everyone to a reception and time of remembering in the Fellowship Hall of the church immediately following burial. A jazz ensemble from Western Kentucky University will provide music. Wonderful talented and enjoyable Lady. She will live on in all the lives she touched forever.
the nance family has been such a lifelong part of our church family as we all grew up together. I can see mr and mrs. nance sitting in church right now.nwe have all been so blessed to enjoy our parents into their 90s. sending love to all of you.
