Charles E. Houchens
March 17, 1929 ~ July 2, 2016
Charles E. Houchens, 87, of Glasgow passed away, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his residence. He was a son of the Edward Washington and Amanda Lee Alexander Houchens. He was owner and operator of Houchens Heating and Cooling of Glasgow. He accepted Jesus as his savior as a young man and was baptized into Dover Baptist Church in Haywood.
He is survived by his wife: McRee Houchens; two daughters: Sharon Billingsley and her husband David and Patti Brown and her husband Dale; four grandchildren: Wallie Billingsley, Ben Billingsley, Trista Poland and Darren Brown; two sisters: Edna Plumlee and Carol Ann Sneed; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Arlis Houchens; two sisters: Inez Green and Violet Hughes.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Patti, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. We are never ready to give them up but I hope your heart takes comfort in knowing he is at home in heaven and you will see him again one day. Mr. Houchens came to our home several times to fix our air unit. We are really going to miss him. He was always so nice to us. We are sorry for your loss, but he is in a good place. Prayers for his family.
