James Howard Perkins
November 22, 1925 ~ January 14, 2017
James Howard Perkins, 91, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at his residence. A son of the late Buford and Pearl Bunch Perkins, he was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier. He was a veteran of WWII, and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he had also served as Deacon for many years.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Woodcock Perkins; his son: Melvin Perkins; a granddaughter: Michalle Williams; two brothers: Homer Perkins and Charlie Perkins; two sisters: Nettie Whitlow and Hazel Grider.
Survivors include his daughter Carol Williams and her husband Mike of Glasgow; his daughter-in-law: Dianna Perkins of Horse Cave; two grandchildren: Shawn Perkins and his wife Debbie of Glasgow, and Gina Huff and her husband Shawn of Scottsville; three great-grandchildren: Amanda and Eric Perkins and Taylor Beth Huff; one sister: Alene Hodges of Colfax, IN
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
So sorry always had good times when visited with him. This family has had its share of loss way to early. Love you Carol.
Our prayers are with his daughter Carol and her family. Mr Perking was a good man did not know he had served his country.

Carol I am so sorry I loved your Daddy I am sorry I can’t be with you all I have had both hands operation Ed on plus I don’t get around very good ? anymore my back and legs are in bad shape you are in my prayers I love you Carol always have even though we don’t see each I do think of you please forgive my absence since Larry passed away I don’t like coming back to the funeral I will never get over that for the rest of my life God Bless you .

We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Perkins was a wonderful man. I got to know him when he came to T. J. Samson Rehab for better breathers. Heaven has gained another angel. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

So sorry to hear of Howard’s passing. A loving and sweet cousin with plenty of humor to pass around. He loved life and loved his family. I know he’s been greeted with loving arms from Melvin and his devoted wife, Evelyn. He’s also with his Best Friend and Brother, Charlie, I know he had missed them all!! Howard had a wonderful life and now he’s even happier, he’ s Blessed and Loved and never forgotten. Love you, Howard, Rest in Peace!!
