Robert Carter “Bob” Reece Jr. age 72, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was a graduate of Glasgow High School and Western Kentucky University, where he earned Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Arts, and Rank I degrees. Bob pursued his love of science and teaching at Scottsville High School and then Glasgow High School before leaving for the realm of administration, first at Glasgow Middle School and then the Glasgow Board of Education. He retired, but it didn’t stick, and he returned to teaching through the Success Academy, where he mentored students, helping them to graduate from high school.

Bob was proud of his military service with the 623 Field Artillery, Headquarters Battalion, of the Kentucky National Guard, ending his service as a Master Sergeant. He treasured the time he spent and the friendships he made there. Bob loved his family, his church, golf, horse racing, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Glasgow Scotties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter and Evelyn Henne Reece of Glasgow, Ky. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Whitlow Reece of Glasgow, his daughter Jennifer Reece of Louisville, his son Brandon Stockton (Cheyenne) of Glasgow, Ky and a grandson, Beckett Stockton. Other survivors include one sister Carol Ann Farrell (Fran) of Holland, Oh., his nephew, Philip Thornton (Emily) of Indianapolis, In. and niece Ashley Eder (Matthias) of Germany and great-nieces and nephews Carter and Evelyn Eder and Campbell Thornton. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Lanny Whitlow (Brenda) of Glasgow, two nephews, Justin Whitlow of Park City and Mickey Whitlow of Bowling Green, and a niece, Heather Parrish of Glasgow. He is lastly survived by three nephews who he considered his grandchildren, Tyler Poore (Mallie Wells,) Dylan Poore (Hope Templeton,) and Preston Payne of Glasgow.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Glasgow on Tuesday, July 13. A memorial service will be held at the church at10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14 with burial to follow at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home.
