I met Bill and Anna at the YMCA where they were regulars in the Silver Sneakers classes. They were an inspiration to me to just keep moving. My sympathy to Anna and the family.
I never had the privilege of being taught by either Bill or Anna but I knew them all through my school years. But I was privileged to be in the Silver Sneakers Class with them where they inspired me by their regular attendance and never quit attitude. This was one of the sweetest couples I have ever met and sweet Anna loved showing off pictures of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. God truly blessed them with a long and wonderful life and they will truly be missed.
One of my favorite teachers at Glasgow High still have all the things I made in his class.
I was very lucky to have Mr. Simmons as my teacher for two years at Glasgow High. I learned a lot from him, he will be missed by many. Prayers for his family.
Sorry for your loss. Mr. Simmons was truly a talented person and teacher. I had the privilege to have him as one of my teachers, as a neighbor, as a friend, and to teach with him at GHS. He will be missed!
So sad to hear this news. Sending love and prayers to Anna and family.
Prayers to all , so sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about Bill! I was fortunate to see Bill and Anna every Sunday at church….what a loving and faithful couple! I really missed them once they moved to Elizabethtown! So sorry I am unable to be there, but you know how special you all are to me…..
sending prayers!
Jean,
Tammy and I are so sorry for your loss. From all that I read and hear, I know your father was an amazing man. I know you have many wonderful memories of him that will continue to live with you forever. Wish Tammy and I could be there with you and Ben. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Our deepest sympathy for the entire Simmons family, especially to Anna. Keeping you in our prayers and in our love.
I got to know Mr. and Mrs. Simmons thru my husband, Philip King, who has passed also. Mr. Simmons was his Industrial Arts teacher. Philip loved woodworking and thought the world of him, as did I. They visited each other often. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
So very sorry to hear of Mr. Simmons passing. While he was not my teacher at GHS he was so nice to all students.
Class of ‘67
So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Simmons. I taught with Mrs Simmons at Liberty Street and had the pleasure of having Jean and Don in my fourth grade class. My son, Mark, had Mr Simmons at Glasgow Middle School. He was fine gentleman and great teacher. My thought and prayers are with the family now and days to come.
Correction on my previous comment, my son was in Mr Simmons class at GHS, not middle school.
