William C Lane
William C. Lane, 85, Glasgow, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late James D. Lane and Eula Beatrice Smith Lane.
Bill formerly worked in sales at Lerman Brothers in Glasgow and later was sales manager at Man O’ War Ford and Paul Miller Ford in Lexington. Bill was proud of his being a Christian and a member of Clays Mill Road Baptist Church as well as his military service with the United States Army.
Bill had numerous hobbies that included gardening, squirrel hunting, fishing, bird watching, and most anything while outdoors; his indoor hobbies included model cars, collecting special items, and crossword puzzles. He also loved to eat country ham, fried squirrel, fried chicken, potatoes, soup beans, cornbread, frog legs, and hot black coffee.
Survivors include five children: Janice Kane and husband John, Gene Carver and wife Brenda, Connie Marsh and husband Kevin, Debbie Myers and husband Mark, and Sherry Jwina and husband Robert; one brother, Clyde Lane; one sister, Diane Estes; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Joyce Waller Lane; one brother Joe Lane; and two sisters: Kay Heers and Bessie Lane.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
