Mary E. Harper
Mary E. Harper, 70, Glasgow, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at her residence. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Thurman “Skillet” Johnson and Margaret Bennett Johnson. She was a retired employee of R R Donnelley & Sons; a master gardener; and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Richard Harper; one daughter Ellen Cox and husband Joey of Glasgow; one granddaughter Madison Cox; three step-children: Kim Harper, Jonathan Harper, and Angie Smith; one sister Linda Morrison and husband James of Hiseville; two brothers: Harold Johnson and wife Mabel, and Steve Johnson and wife Beverly all of Cave City; one brother-in-law, Nathan Priddy of Brownsville; six step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-daughter Jennifer Harper; one sister Carolyn Priddy; and one brother Courtney Hall Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 8 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
I’m so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. I met her when she volunteered at Madison’s school. It wasn’t very long before I knew what a kind person she was. She was a great help, was easy to talk to and everyone loved her. Prayers for her sweet family.
