Allen Thomas Shutters
Allen Thomas Shutters, 74, New Albany, IN passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born on May 12, 1948 in New Albany to Marshall and Mary Garvin Shutters. He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam veteran and a lifetime member of VFW Post 3281 in New Albany.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Janet Stell Shutters; two brothers: Richard and Ray Shutters; two sisters: Marilyn Roley and Barbara Poe; sisters-in-law, Janan Absher and Tina Stell; nephews, James and David Absher; nieces, Deanna Newill and Melissa Fettner; several nieces and nephews from the Shutters family; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and his fur babies, Sunny and Rusty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Phyllis Hogan, Charles Shutters, Harold Shutters, Donnie Shutters, and Jenny Wingarten; and a step-daughter, Dannette Flaherty.
A memorial graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
