Dean Rich Hurt

Ima Dean Rich Hurt, 88, of Hiseville, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.  Born in Muhlenberg County on September 30, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Bennett “Doc” and Flarence Croft Rich.  She moved with her family to Big Meadow on January 1, 1936.  She was preceded in death by her late husband James Robert Hurt, whom she married on May 15, 1953; they were married 49 years. She retired in 1997 after 36 years as the secretary at Hiseville School.

She is survived by one son: Wayne Hurt and wife Marti of Glasgow; one daughter Diane White and husband Jimmy of Glasgow; five grandchildren: James Russell White and wife Charlotte, Jess White and wife Kylee, Leah White Wheeler and husband William, Keith Hurt and wife Gina, and Amie Lee and husband Mike; ten great-grandchildren: Oliver White, Eastlyn White, Kathleen White, Miranda Bonifay, Tristan Hurt, Jared Hurt, Riley Hurt, Rhayna Hurt, Chandler Gibson, and Maggie Hutten; along with four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother Jim Rich and two sisters, Cassie Howard and Ruby Findlay.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BCEF—Children’s Day.  Information will be available at the funeral home.
