Jerry Stockton

Jerry Barthel Stockton passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023 in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born on October 20, 1946 in Waterview, Kentucky.

Jerry was a devoted father, and caring husband, who served both God and country as he was a passionate preacher and spent over 20 years in the military. He enjoyed spending his time relaxing by cooking, grilling, traveling, and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Thelma Jean Stockton, three children – Craig Thomas Stockton, Jerri Da Sha Stockton, and Leticia Gayle Stockton (Edward Javon McNebb)– four grandchildren – Brittany, Chyrreia, Jadyn, and Emma – as well as two great-grandchildren – Briella and Koloari. In his later years, Jerry was unable to keep up with one of his additional loves, mowing the yard, where this responsibility was taken

over by his niece La Kreisa and her husband, Jesse. Jerry is also survived by his sisters, Elaine Frances and Mary Lillian Rhodes, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Benton Barthel Stockton, and his mother, Alsena Ellis Stockton.

A celebration of life and viewing will be held at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 15, from 5-8 pm, CDT.

As stated in his obituary, he was a committed leader to his faith, family, and friends as well as to his country. He served faithful as as a pastor and touched the lives of countless people with the the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are praying for Mrs. Stockton and all the family in these days and give thanks to God for the life, service, and witness of Rev. Jerry Stockton.
