Nettie Beatrice Neal
Nettie Beatrice Neal, 88 of Glasgow departed this life on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at her home. The Barren County native was born on January 6, 1935 to the late Edgar Stephenson and the late Nettie Mae Bowles Stephenson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years H. Thomas Neal; a son Donald Neal; one granddaughter Lindsay Franklin; one great-granddaughter Kristen Rae Edwards; two sisters: Lillian Burris and Francis England; and three brothers: James, Robert, and Charles Stephenson.
Mrs. Neal was a homemaker and also worked several years at KenDec. She was a member of Glasgow Faith Church; she so loved her church family and faithfully attended until her health no longer allowed. She enjoyed listening to gospel music as well as quilting and crocheting gifts for family and friends. Sundays and holidays were special to her as she prepared meals for the family so that they all could be together.
Her survivors include her four children: Loretta Minyard (Johnny), Sheryl Bailey (Greg), Darlene Vincent (Joe), and Eddie Neal (Angela); one sister Barbara Ward; one sister-in-law Phyllis Stephenson; eight grandchildren: Angie Ponce, Carmon Adwell (Josh), Chad Vincent (Andrea), Eli Neal (Martha), Clinton Neal, Kelsi Antunes (Flavio), Cory Bailey, and Justin Bailey (Mindy); sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; Eric Landrum whom she loved as a grandchild; a very special friend and caregiver Barbara Shaw; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
