Nolan O’Byrne

Nolan Gerald O’Byrne, 93, of Glasgow, KY passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at T J Samson Community Hospital.  He was born on January 26, 1930 in Leicester, Vermont to the late Earl and Betty O’Byrn.

He pursued his collegiate studies at Purdue University and afterwards served in the Korean War with the U S Army.  He was a very proud Army veteran.  After his military service, he was employed with Sea Land as vice president of maintenance and received “Man of the Year” honors.  He was a faithful follower of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by one son Joseph (Jennifer) O’Byrne of Lady Lake, Florida; one brother Lionel O’Byrn of Glasgow, Kentucky; two sisters: Edna Mitowski of Rutland, Vermont, and Mary Wood of Quechee, Vermont; several nieces and nephews, along with two special family friends Rick and Sandy Curry of Lady Lake, Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years Rita; two brothers: Dan and Allan O’Byrn; and one sister Geraldine Woehnker.

Hatcher & Saddler Funeral arranged for his cremation and a memorial service will be held in Lady Lake, Florida at a date yet to be determined.
