Virginia Denton
Virginia Hancock Denton, 87, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Barren County Health & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Hancock and Allie Edith Owens Hancock.
Virginia was a retired bookkeeper for Glasgow Board of Education and a member of the Park City United Methodist Church where she had served many years as treasurer. She shared many interests; but her favorite times were spent with family, flowers, and cooking.
Survivors include her husband James Denton; one son Dana Denton and his wife Joy Settle Denton of Bowling Green; one daughter Dawn Lee Barbour of Tompkinsville; three grandchildren: Sydney Denton, David Barbour, and Daniel Barbour; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter Dona Denton Davis; one brother Buddy Hancock; and two sisters: Joyce Hancock Devore and Janice Hancock Matthews.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

James and family, i am so sorry for your loss. I had so much fun working with Virginia at Glasgow Independent Schools. She was super smart, dedicated to her work and loads of fun. Not to mention a great cook. It was a blessing that she came to Texas for my wedding to Jim. Hugs.
