Norris W. Wilson

          Norris Wayne Wilson, Glasgow, passed away on his 77th birthday Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence while surrounded by his daughters.  A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Henry Davis Wilson and Ruth Dean Wilson.

          Norris was a graduate of Hiseville High School; a devoted follower of Jesus Christ; and a dedicated member of the Calvary Baptist Church.  He was a retired pressman at R R Donnelley & Sons in Glasgow as well as a farmer.  He greatly enjoyed his vocations, especially his farming endeavors and his travelling experiences.

          Norris is survived by three daughters: Dawna Wood (Keith) of Nashville, Lesa Guffey (Ray) and Nena Shomler (David) all of Bowling Green; the mother of his children, Susan Wilson of Bowling Green; six grandchildren: Brittony Rose Todd (Andrew) of Bowling Green, Ben Pinnegar (Kaylee) of Albany, Oregon, Molly Wood of Chicago, Whitney Wood (Brian) of Walnut Grove, MN, Kincade Shomler and Jake Owen Shomler both of Bowling Green; one great-grandchild, Nova Pinnegar; two step-daughters: Angie Rich (Kenny) and Alisa Perkins; three step-grandchildren: Kodi Crump (Brian), Katelyn Cross (Colton), and Daniel Meredith; four step-great-grandchildren: Jackson Kado, Charlie Kado, Scarlett Crump, and Camden Cross; one brother Terry Wilson (Rita) of Glasgow; one sister Margie Reed (Terry) of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Wilson; two brothers: Preston Wilson and Stanley Wilson; and one sister Tammie Wilson.

          A celebration of Norris’ life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

    Our thoughts and prayers with all of you. We use to go to church with Norris and Charlene. We have lots of fond memories of fellowship and worship services together, as well as going on mission trips with them. May God give you all comfort and strength at this time. It’s not goodbye to Norris but see you later.

    I remember Mr. Norris from our RRD days. I worked alongside him several times and he was just a super great guy to be around. I recall him trying to get me to go ‘line dancing’ (I think) with them as he really enjoyed that.
    Rest easy my friend as I will never forget you.
