Katherine Bellamy

          Margaret Katherine Bellamy, 93, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Barren Health & Rehab Center.  A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Maggie Bridges Powell.

          Katherine was a graduate of Austin Tracy High School and the widow of the late Thomas Elmore “Tommy” Bellamy.  She was a retired insurance clerk at T J Samson Community Hospital and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

          Survivors include one daughter Tommie Kaye Thomas and husband Randy of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Josh Thomas (Aundi), Ben Thomas (Halie), and Amanda Meek (Casey); eleven grandchildren: Conlee, Jase, Leigha Kate, Trapper, Ava, Lacey, Jonah, Addie, Tate, and Ruie; several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Jordan; and five brothers: Carl, Earl, Billy Joe, Wendell, and Botts Powell.

          The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Barren Health & Rehab Center for their dedicated service and care given to Katherine.

          In keeping with her request, Katherine’s family will hold a private service and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in her honor to the Refuge Cemetery, c/o Jason Chenoweth, P O Box 1382, Glasgow, KY 42142-1382.  Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
