David Witty

David Gray Witty, 68, Glasgow, peacefully passed on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

David is survived by his wife Patsye of 28 years; his daughter Brianna; a sweet great-nephew, Remington, and their family pets: Dexter, Starr, and Alfie; five sisters: Peggy Witty of Gainesville, FL, Marcia Eastin (Mark) of Bowling Green, Marita Lile (Jeff) of Glasgow, Lisa Travis (Scott) of Lexington, and Jennie Dunn (Jeff) of Santa Fe, NM; one brother, Patrick Witty (Andrea) of Tulsa, OK; one sister-in-law, Sue Frazier (Don) of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.  David was preceded in death by his parents Hascal and Wanda Witty of Glasgow.

David worked his entire life at his family owned business, Witty’s Muffler and Alignment, which was started by his father “Hack” Witty over 50 years ago.  He strived for perfection in everything he did.  He was very strong, kind-hearted, and a few words kind of guy.  He enjoyed making special works of art by Blacksmithing; biking adventures in his younger years; weight lifting; gardening; and watching sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats.  Most of all, he loved being at home with his family.  He was deeply loved and will be missed every day!

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Melanoma Research Foundation.
