Randel Norris

          Randel Clay Norris, 85, Glasgow, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at the T J Samson Community Hospital.  A native of Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Claud and Lida Altie Poindexter Norris.

          Randel was a retired technician with Verizon Telephone and a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church where he also had served as deacon and song leader for a number of years.  He was also a United States Army veteran.

          Survivors include his wife Linda; two sons: Danny Norris and wife Lesli of Arrington, TN, and Rodney Norris and wife Susie of Jasper, GA; one daughter, Tonya Ballard and husband Jeff of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren: Lindsay Lofty (Kyle), Shelby Hammond (Mark), Emmery Sadler (Sam), Tiffany Walker (Trevor), and Mackenzie Ballard; one brother, Bruce Norris (Imogene) of Portland, TN; one sister-in-law, Rose Ella Norris of Glasgow; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Luther Paul Norris and Will Turner “Bill” Norris; and one sister, Robbie Jackman.

          Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
