Michael J. Gibbons
Michael Jewell Gibbons, 69, Cave City, passed away suddenly Friday, September 20, 2024 from injuries sustained in a trucking accident. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Walter Jewell Gibbons and Lois Bowles Gibbons. He was a 1973 graduate of Park City High School, a lifelong farmer, and a member of Shepherd’s House Church.
Survivors include one brother Anthony Gibbons (Beth); three sisters: Cheryl Renick (Phil), Cherry Martin, and Kimberly Samaras (Jordan); three step-children: Chris Pruitt, Braxton Pruitt, and Trevor Byrd; special friend Cindy Byrd; seven nieces and nephews: Kyle Renick, Ryan Renick, Kori Renick, Issac Gibbons, Samuel Gibbons, Reagan Samaras, and Jacob Samaras; two aunts: Linda Gibbons and Bessie Gibbons; thirteen special cousins: Amelia Kiser, Les Broady, Wesley Stephens, Darlene Lawson, Randy Gibbons, Everett Chase, Brenda Ault, Bill Chase, Dennis Smith, Greta Johnson, Diane McGuire, Steve Gibbons, and Kenny Gibbons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Timmy Martin; along with several aunts, uncles, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiseville Cemetery.

It’s not the news that we want to hear as we know tomorrow is not promised it was great knowing and working for Michael and Walter that is how I came to know Michael God has plans for us all we just need to be sure we are ready for the day he calls us home just as Michael did Prayers for his family and friends
