Earl T. Jessie

          Earl Thomas Jessie, 91, of Greensburg, KY, formerly of Glasgow, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.  A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Robert and Rosa Jessie.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Loraine Hughes Jessie; two sisters: Opal Thomerson and Inis Walbert; one grandson, Shannon Wayne Harwood; and a special friend, Barbara Scott.

          Earl had made a profession of faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early in his life and for many years was a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church.  For years, if you had any John Deere farm equipment, you most likely bought it from Earl who worked at the Glasgow Trading Center for more than 40 years.  He was a veteran having served with the United States Army.

          Earl is survived by his twin children: Sheryl Elaine Harwood and her husband Steve, and Dr. Daryl Wayne Jessie and his wife Kathy.  He is also survived by four grandchildren: Adam T. Jessie, Ami Blue, Scott Harwood (Holly), and Staci Sigler (Edwin); ten great-grandchildren: Waylon D. Jessie, Clayton Harwood, Destiny Harwood, Caleb Harwood, Kolten Harwood, Braylee Harwood, Maxen Harwood, Bentlee Sigler, Larkyn Harwood, and Kyler Sigler; two great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon Harwood and Skyler Kinser; along with several nieces.

          Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Earl’s son Dr. Daryl W. Jessie will be officiating the service.  Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    He was a good man who worked hard. He loved seeing all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed, but he was called home by god . To walk amongst his angels and watch over his family from heaven. Godspeed Earl Jessie
