Ellen Bunnell
Ellen Marie Bunnell, 77, Glasgow, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. A native of Dearborn, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Mortimer and Jeannette Hulett Clark.
Soon after graduating high school, Ellen met Robert “Bob” Bunnell whom she would marry and be a “Pastor’s Wife” for the next 57 years. Their ministry would bring them to Glasgow, where Bob was pastor of Glasgow Bible Church for many years. During that time, she would lead and/or assist in the children’s ministry as she has done in all the churches that they have served. Also while in Glasgow, Ellen attended Western Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and then taught at Glasgow Christian Academy as well as in local public schools. After moving away for about 7 years, they returned to Glasgow and have been very active in the ministries of both Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Glasgow Bible Church.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Bunnell; three children: Steven Bunnell and wife Val of Michigan, David Bunnell and wife Lili of Romania, and Becky Bruin and husband Michael of Lexington; three grandchildren: Taylor Bunnell and Daniel Bunnell both of Michigan, and Briana Bunnell of Romania; two sisters: Sharon Baker and Dee Wright and her husband Chuck all of Michigan; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
