In Loving Memory of my Uncle
It is with a heavy heart that I write these words after the passing of my dearest Uncle Ken. He was a great example of love and strength to me growing up and I will always remember the lessons of hard work and reward due to him.
I’m so grateful for his kindness, strength, and sense of humor and that will live on in my memories. Summers at ‘the market’ were so much fun, a bit of play and work for me and my brother and sister, definitely some of my fondest memories. One in particular, when I tested Ken’s patience— I was helping unload cantaloupe from his semi truck with the family. Never having done this before, I dropped a few more than I should have during the process of tossing one melon at a time to the next person. Thinking I’d get a scolding, it never came. Instead, Unlce Ken demonstrated calmness, which in turn afforded me focus and drive to do a better job. This was a lesson in patience that has obviously stuck with me to this day.
My uncle Ken has always been my favorite uncle, a strong, supportive family man. And always will be. I’m deeply saddened by his passing and even more so that I’m so far away during these moments of grief for the family. I’m sending all my love to the Davis family and wishing you love and comfort in one another.
All my love,
Kimberly Mills
We are very sorry for the loss of Ken. His kind spirit was always evident in his smile when we would see him at church. I know many (including Debbie) have fond memories of going to the market and seeing him there. He will be missed.
