 Gary L. Oaks, 84, New Albany, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Sellersburg Health & Rehab Center. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Hubert and Nona Chaplin Oaks. He was a retired type setter for printing companies who enjoyed all kinds of sports but was especially a fan of the University of Kentucky. 

 Survivors include three sons: Tyson Oaks (Christine) of Sellersburg, Kevin Oaks (Lisa) of Eustis, Florida, and Stacy Oaks of New Albany; six grandchildren: Matthew Stephens (Danielle), Ryan Stephens, and Bryan Stephens all of Glasgow, Dylan Oaks (Grace) and Taylor Oaks all of Eustis, and Hudson Oaks of Sellersburg; one great-granddaughter Jaime Eloise Oaks with one great-grandchild on the way; his special companion Cathy Hopper of New Albany; a son-in-law, Bobby Gilliam of Scottsville; along with many cousins. 

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Mitchell Brooks Oaks, and one daughter Angie Gilliam. 

 Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
