Janet Lee Cook Martin, 87, moved to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Janet was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family, setting an example for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Born September 18, 1937, in Whitesburg / Letcher County, Kentucky, she was a homemaker and former Retail and Manufacturing Worker, and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Glasgow.
Mom will always be remembered for her loving phrase “I Love You More”
Janet was married for 69 years to her husband, Delmas Martin, who survives. She is also survived by her children: Denny Martin (Sheryl), Melissa Williams (Steve), Marsha Gillock (Mike), and Mona Rose Simmons (Roger); her grandchildren: Wittlee Jones (Matt), Hannah Woerdeman (Mark), Amanda Dixon (Phillip), Joshua Simmons (Courtney), and Conner Gillock; her great-grandchildren: Katie Anne West, Autumn Rose Lutterman, Addison Rose Lutterman, and Harper Kate Jones; her siblings: Charlene Risner and William “Bill” Cook (Linda).
She was preceded in death by her parents Martin Cook and Mary Hazel Sergent McReynolds; a brother Jackie Cook; a sister Patty Cook; a son Roy Martin; granddaughter Le Anne West; grandson Steve Scott Williams; granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Gillock; brother-in-law Bart Risner.

Visitation for Janet will be Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and after 11:00 am Monday at First Freewill Baptist Church of Glasgow, 656 Pritchardsville Road. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Brother Kevin Flannagin and Brother Mike Gillock officiating. Interment will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Iron Mountain Road, Park City, Ky.
