Joseph Earl Hatchett

Joseph Earl Hatchett of Glasgow passed to his heavenly home on Friday, February 28, 2025. He was the son of Earl R and Ora Ellis Hatchett, born in Glasgow on July 31, 1939. 

Joseph proudly served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He loved his Lord and savior and his church. He served as deacon and Sunday School teacher at Glasgow Baptist Church for over twenty-five years. He enjoyed working with his father in Hatchett Motor Company and as manufacturing engineer in three different manufacturing companies. He traveled to Japan, Mexico, and Canada on company business. 

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and three brothers: Clarence, Terry, and David. 

Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara; daughter Teresa Keen (Chris); granddaughters: Ashley Weaver (Brandon) and Whitney Gilreath (Joshua); great-grandchildren: Declan and Sawyer Gilreath, Joseph Bertram, and Rowan Weaver; his sister Ora H. Riherd (Frank); several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Glasgow Baptist Church or to BRAWA.
