Mary Frances Laird, 86, Cave City, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Signature Health Care Hart County. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Garvin and Bessie Smith Ballard. She was also preceded in death by her husband Garvie Laird.
Mary spent many years employed as a waitress; her most recent location being the Oasis Motel. She was very active in serving others in other aspects of her life as well. She was an active member of the Cave City Baptist Church where she also served in the kitchen and clothes closet ministries. She was also a “Red Hatter”.
Survivors include three brothers: James Garvin Ballard (Ruby), Willie Ballard, and Jerry Ballard (Betty) all of Horse Cave; one “sister”, Lillie Ann Riley (Mark) of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
