Rebecca Ellen Houchens, 76, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. Born in Beech Grove, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harold Ray Nicholson and Evelyn Wert Nicholson. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at the District 6 Tuberculosis Hospital and later at the Glasgow State Nursing Facility until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband Billy E. Houchens; one daughter, Gina M. Houchens; two sons: Michael E. Houchens (Connie Granados) and Mark N. Houchens (Tracy); five grandchildren: Maria Gabriela Houchens Granados, Julia Marina Marie Houchens Granados, Braxton Nicholson Houchens, Elizabeth Marie Houchens, and Evelyn Grace Houchens; one brother, Michael Nicholson; two sisters: Kathy Eicher and Janet Dyer; her faithful caregiver Mona Azares; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery will be private.
