William August Groenwald, 83, Glasgow, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at SKY Rehabilitation Hospital. Born August 29, 1940 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Edmond and Katherine Miller Groenwald.
Bill was a retired systems analyst at Sears, Roebuck & Co.; a Marine Corps veteran; and a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Leah; three children: Robert William Groenwald of Illinois, William Edmond Groenwald (Jeri) of South Carolina, and Rebecca Louise Turner (Merle) of Illinois; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
