Willie Mae Vanzant, 96, Griderville, died Monday at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Ela and Annie Everett Parrish and the widow of the late Gary Leon Vanzant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include four nephews, James B. Parrish of Florida, Jack Parrish of West Virginia, Mack Parrish of Michigan and Bob Parrish of Louisville; five cousins, Edwin Parrish, Annie Curd, Laura Curd, Mildred Bunch and Roger Saunders; four great nephews; seven great nieces; several great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jess Parrish and Roy Parrish.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
